SUBJECT: DELETION OF PNEUMOCOCCAL CODE

PRIMARY INTERESTS: BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGERS

EFFECTIVE DATE: DATES OF SERVICE ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 1999

The Health Care Financing Administration has announced the following HCPCS has been deleted from the list of acceptable codes for billing:

90669 Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, polyvalent, for intramuscular use

This code is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Claims received on or after January 17, 2000 will not be accepted using this code. Claims already processed will not be reopened.
