SUBJECT: 2000 HEALTH CARE FINANCING ADMINISTRATION COMMON PROCEDURE CODING SYSTEM (HCPCS) UPDATE
PRIMARY INTERESTS: BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGERS, MEDICAL RECORD DIRECTORS
EFFECTIVE DATE: DATES OF SERVICE ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 2000
The following are modifications to HCPCS codes, including additions, changes and deletions.
The coding changes are effective for dates of service on or after January 1, 2000. There is a three month grace period for deleted codes. This grace period applies to claims received prior to April 1, 2000, which contain 1999 discontinued codes for dates of service January 1, 2000 and later. These codes are identified in the attached listing as report number HCPC-3.
