SUBJECT: RIVERBEND GBA TO SERVE AS NEW JERSEY INTERMEDIARY

PRIMARY INTEREST: ADMINISTRATORS, BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGERS

The Health Care Financing Administration has selected Riverbend GBA to serve as the Medicare Part Intermediary for the State of New Jersey, effective August 1, 2000. The previous Intermediary, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, made a business decision to cease their function as a Medicare contractor.

This award means that beginning August 1, 2000, Riverbend will serve Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, End Stage Renal Disease Facilities, CORFs, Outpatient Physical Therapy Centers and Community Mental Health Centers in New Jersey. This new workload will make Riverbend GBA the seventh largest Intermediary and our Medicare presence will include 46 states, Washington D.C., Bermuda, Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands.

We will continue our commitment to provide the highest service possible to all the providers and beneficiaries we serve.
