SUBJECT: ELECTRONIC REMITTANCE ADVICE
PRIMARY INTERESTS: BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGERS
EFFECTIVE DATE: IMMEDIATELY
A 11/13/00 attempt to address the electronic remittance (ERA) problems with the deductible, coinsurance and contractual adjustment has resulted in new problems. Some claims may not appear on the ERA. Providers must rely on the hardcopy remittance which is correct and lists all claims. Posting from the ERA will result in out of balance issues. FISS is working on a correction, target date unknown at this time.
