Appeals Process

Providers have the same appeal rights for CERT-initiated denials as they do for denials initiated through Riverbend, The same process and Medicare guidelines apply (e.g., 120-day time frame allowed for submitting an appeal).

The CERT Claim Identification (CID) will be included in the denial paragraph on each claim denied by CERT. Include the bar-code sheet or the CERT Claim ID when submitting an appeal. All appeals should be submitted to Riverbend.
